POINTS OF INTEREST
Named for the massive almond tree growing through the roof, this Ocho Rios restaurant has been serving dishes "Back A Yard" (the way things are done back home) for nearly 40 years. For many, the evening starts with a drink at the terrace bar overlooking the sea. Dinner can be enjoyed on the terrace or in the dining room. There are nightly "yardie specials" and items from the grill including prime fillet mignon, curried goat, tips of chicken Ali Baba, and oxtail with beans. Seafood offerings include Caribbean shrimp, grilled sea trout, and lobster. Pasta, salads, and sandwiches are also on the menu. Lemon or strawberry cheesecake or chocolate truffle torte are dessert possibilities. Reservations recommended on weekends.
